As part of the 2012 Paris International Car Exhibition, Valeo entrusted ateliergh with the design of a specific installation. Our answer was a bright and moving hanging garden, where vegetation is technically actuated by natural phenomena. A techno-poetic ecosystem.

Valeo’s allegory of nature takes life thanks to the Flying Stick, which is equipped with a propeller, LED lights, a spray and laser. All the components of that object inspire natural sensations: wind, light, water and movement. In that installation, the 60 Flying Sticks are like 60 dancers in a mechanical choreography.

This ‘animatic’ device is a visual and sensorial experience, placing visitors at the heart of a technical metaphor of natural phenomena. Such a project has been a technical challenge for ateliergh. From the choice of materials to software and electronic conception, the making of the device has been driven like a R&D project.
