For the second edition of the European Arts and Crafts Days, the National Arts and Crafts Institute trusts the ateliergh for the staging and setting of the event which takes place in an emblematic place of contemporary arts : the Palais de Tokyo.
A plastic metaphor, stripped of the artisan workshop.
More than an exhibition, “Arts and Crafts stage” is an invitation to participate in an unprecedented emotional experience. Guided by a contemporary and poetic lighting, the audience will enter the universe of about ten workshops : typographer, binder, blacksmith, ceramist, goldsmith, engraver… and through sounds and images, fixed or moving, will feel the magic of the link that unites artisans of art with matter. This subject rhythms the time of the craftsman, this time of creation so special, which ignores the time that passes.
At the heart of the exhibition is a place dedicated to meetings, debates and exchanges : the Banquet.
The Banquet, which is thought to be a convivial space for exchanges, offers invited craftsmen the possibility of a carte blanche with the public. In the form of workshops, round tables or workshops, the programming is free and guided by the wishes of those who wished to participate.
With this exhibition, the intention of the National Institute of Arts and Crafts is to bring the public to change their vision of the craftsman.
The Palais de Tokyo is a unique place. Built for the 1937 International Exhibition, it is today one of the largest European sites dedicated to contemporary creation in all its forms.
